Rakshabandhan which marks the lovely relation of
Brother and sister in India is approaching. However, there is another
interesting fact associated with this festival. It’s being observed that Boys prefer escaping college during Rakhi week. This is because girls try to tie
Rakhi to the boys in their class. Since it’s awkward to refuse a rakhi
so, they escape the college.
It has been observed that there is very low percentage of
attendance by the boys in the week of Rakshabandhan. Talking to a
Professor in the city about the same he told that “the boys fear of being tied
a Rakhi and they avoid college this week. Looking to this we have issued
compulsory attendance notice”.
Especially it’s more difficult and embarrassing for those
boys who turn from prospective lovers to brother this day. It’s really
very awkward when a girl you like comes and ties you a Rakhi making you
her brother. An engineering student told “One must be very alert and avoid his
crush to be at safer side”.
Another student has similar thoughts to share, “We leave
college early and avoid meeting our classmates and specially the girls who try
to play pranks by tying Rakhi”.
