Delhi High Court rejected bail petition of three CWG accused

Delhi High Court on Tuesday,dismissed the bail petition of three persons who are accused for financial irregularities relating to the Commonwealth Games scam. These persons are promoters of Private companies who are related to the scam. They are Anil Kumar Madan, and Purushottam Dev Arya of Faridabad-based Gem International and A Krishna Reddy a Hyderabad-based entrepreneur of AKR Constructions who are found guilty.



Justice Mutka Gupta who heard the session for bail petition said, “I do not find any merit in the application, the application is accordingly dismissed.” and dismissed their plea. She also added, “The Petitioner may not be part of the conspiracy initially, however, if he joins the chain subsequently, he would still be a part of the conspiracy.”

Anil Kumar Madan has filed the bail plea telling his health conditions as the reason as he is old, handicapped, and is suffering from heart diseases. 

CBI accused Madan and Arya as a beneficiary of the CWG scam. Agency had alleged that, they were in contact with Kalmadi from long time before CWG, who are representatives Swiss Timing Company, and has been given the contract for the timing, scoring and result (TSR) equipment by Kalmadi at a very low price for personal interests.

The other one, A Krishna Reddy has been found guilty of producing a bill worth Rs. 13 Crores for works worth Rs.3 crore.
