Kolkata Knight Riders reached at the top in the standings, wins against Kings XI Punjab

Gautam Gambhir won the toss and decided to put Kings XI Punjab into bat first. Top class batting of KXI Punjab was looking totally weak against the good bowling attack of Kolkata Knight Riders. Adam Gilchrist, Paul Valthaty, Shaun Marsh and David Hussey were sent to pavilion when score on the board was just 53 runs. It was only Dinesh Kartik whose 42 runs knock helped Kings XI Punjab to reach 119 runs in 20 overs.

In reply to Kings XI Punjab, Knight Riders got off to a poor start as Kallis departed earlier. Morgan started playing some good shots but he was caught by Harris when he was playing at 28. After the fall of 2 wickets, Captain Gautam Gambhir and Tiwary took the responsibility on their shoulders and lead Kolkata Knight Riders toward another win in the fourth season of Indian Premier League.
