Volkswagen to launch car which drives 100 km per liter of diesel

Rising Fuel prices have hit the common man's pocket,with an uncountable number of hikes in petrol and diesel the demand for more fuel efficient vehicles is gaining strength around the globe. And this is the reason why automobile companies are looking for fuel efficient vehicles.





Stepping ahead, German company Volkswagen has come out with Volkswagen XL1 which is challenging to provide a 100 km drive per liter of diesel. It was earlier showcased at the Qatar Auto Show. It's a diesel-electric hybrid vehicle and will run 100 km on less than a litre of diesel (0.91 litre).

Company that it will initially be launched into the markets of German & UK in 2013. Also, it will be a limited edition car but it's production may be expanded later on looking to the demands it attracts.

The car has been manufactured using light weight material which limits it to a weight of just 795 kg. It's two seater and attains top speed of of 62 miles an hour in 11.9 seconds.

Price in India:-
The price of this car in India has been estimated at around Rs 22 lakh.
