No Runner in Cricket now-New rules to be introduced

Batsman will now have to run themselves even if, they are having stretch in their muscles. They will not be getting any support from runner. International Cricket Council (ICC) has finished the rule of availing runner. ICC committee members also suggested using new ball from each end in ODI and to fix the time of batting and bowling power play.



All this recommendations will be in effect from 1st October after approval of ICC. Runners have been used in Cricket from very long time and recently there have been many issues also regarding runner. Andrew Strauss stopped South Africa's Captain Graeme Smith from taking runner n Champions Trophy in 2009 which created issue. Australia's Captain Michael Clarke also raised question on the use of runner. 

Rules to be changed in Cricket:
  • No runner in Cricket.
  • Use of new ball from each end in ODI matches.
  • Fixing the time of batting and bowling powerplay.
