Kings XI Punjab out of race of IPL 2011

Hopes of Kings XI Punjab came to an end when they faced defeat against Deccan Chargers by 82 runs in their last league match which they played yesterday. Kings XI Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and decided to put Deccan Chargers into bat first. First wicket crucial partnership from Shikhar Dhawan and Teja helped Deccan Chargers to score 198 runs on the scoreboard. Dhawan scored 95 runs and remained not out till the end.


Target was a bit difficult for Kings XI Punjab as they started playing under intense pressure. Paul Valthaty and Shaun Marsh left the field earlier. Whole responsibility went on the shoulders of Adam Gilchrist which was not responded properly by him. Middle order of Kings XI Punjab failed to even reach about near to 198 runs. Attacking bowling from Amit Mishra destroyed Punjab’s batting and they finally lost the match by 82 runs. Amit Mishra took Hat trick in this match.
