Deccan Chargers batting first got off to a poor start and their poor performance was still continued in the batting department. Kumar Sangakkara tried to score some runs on the board but his effort was not sufficient for big score. Hopes of Deccan Chargers were exploited after the departure of Duminy and Christian. In the last over some words were exchanged between Munaf Patel and Amit Mishra which resulted into 23 runs from that over.
It was expected that Mumbai Indians will win the match in no time but everything happened in the opposite way. Ball was turning in superb way which resulted into the fall of first wicket in the first over itself. Suddenly middle order of Mumbai Indians collapsed and Sangakkara was feeling the smell of victory. Pollard and Harbhajan Singh started charging themselves and started hitting some big shots but overs were not much left to defend the defeat. Finally, Deccan Chargers won the match by 10 runs.
