CBI has arrested three people including the Ex-President of Common Wealth Games Organizing Committee Suresh Kalmadi on Monday. Alongwith Suresh Kalmadi the Joint Directorate of Organizing Committee SP Prasad and Vice-President Surjit Lal have been arrested.
Kalmadi has been arrested under the charges of putting up the tender to a Switzerland based company by pre-planning and at at very high price. He has been presented in the CBI court on Tuesday that is today. He reached the CBI Head Quarters at 10:45 am. He has been arrested after interrogation. This is the 4th time that he has been interrogated in case of CWG scam.
Reasons behind Kalmadi's arrest:
The tender of Timing-Scoring Result (TSR) has been given to Swiss Company named Swiss Timekeeping against 141 crores.CBI claims that Kalmadi has passed this tender to Swiss Timekeeping in a pre-meditated way keeping all the rules away.
The charge is that the Officers of CWG organizing committee has kept all the competitors for the TSR system away and has provided the tender to Swiss Timekeeping Company in a wrong way.
